It's a happy day for "Mortal Kombat" fans as developer NetherRealm Studios makes its game of the year, "Mortal Kombat XL," and Kombat Pack 2 expansion available with a preorder bonus. NetherRealm is giving away a DLC called the "Cosplay Pack" for every preorder of either "Mortal Kombat XL" or Kombat Pack 2.
According to XBox Achievements, NetherRealm Studios' incentive for those who wish to buy "Mortal Kombat XL" and those who already own "Mortal Kombat" and would like to upgrade with Kombat Pack 2 expansion gives Cassie Cage and Jacqui Briggs a whole new look. The bonus DLC fits Cage out as Sub-Zero and Briggs as Scorpion.
Gamespot reports that "Mortal Kombat XL," which includes the base game along with all available DLCs, is priced at $60. "Mortal Kombat XL" also brings with it four new characters: Alien's Xenomorph, Leatherface, Triborg, and Bo' Rai Cho. These new characters are included in Kombat Pack 2. The expansion pack also gives Goro, which is also a preorder bonus from a previous offer, and quite a selection of character skins.
The announcement can be seen on NetherRealm's Twitter account.
On the downside, NetherRealm will not make "Mortal Kombat XL" and Kombat Pack 2 expansion available on the PC platform. While NetherRealm made the first Kombat Pack available "Mortal Kombat X" on PC, no new content will be given to the PC community from Kombat Pack 2.
Shoryuken points out that the console streamlining decision may have been a long time in coming given the number of issues that have been hounding "Mortal Kombat" on PC. The first indication that this would happen was during the netcode beta testing for "Mortal Kombat XL."
"Mortal Kombat XL" and Kombat Pack 2 expansion will become available on March 1 in North America and on March 4 in Europe for both Xbox One and PS4.
