Usher's Son Who Nearly Drowned in 'Eating,Laughing,Talking', But Mom Still Wants Full Custody

Usher got quite the scare this week when his 5-year-old son nearly drowned in a pool on Monday, prompting his ex-wife to file papers to get full custody of their children. However, good news is on the horizon for the family as TMZ is reporting that the little boy, Usher Raymond V, is recovering well after being in intensive care.

Sources close to the family say Usher Raymond V is still in the ICU, but he is already "sitting up in bed at the hospital, eating, laughing, and talking to people." The young boy is being kept in a private area and is slated to be released in the next couple of days.

Cinco, as he is called, has been comforted by this mother Tameka Foster Raymond who has not left his side the entire time.

Tameka did not take news of the accident well and has blamed Usher for not being present with the children. The accident happened on Monday when Cinco reached into a pool drain to retrieve a toy and got stuck. Usher's aunt, Rena Oden, who was supervising the boy, went in to try and rescue him. Two male contractors working inside the house then rushed to the pool and were able to free the boy. One of the men performed CPR, reviving the boy before medical responders arrived at Usher's home.

The former couple divorced in 2009 and in 2012 and Usher received primary custody of their two sons.

Tameka has already filed legal docs seeking primary custody.
