Already "Fifty Shades of Grey" fans are getting restless for Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan to return onscreen as Anastasia Steel and Christian Grey in "Fifty Shades Darker." Dakota Johnson, who is the daughter of famous actor parents Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson, has certainly been busy with various projects between making "Fifty Shades of Grey" and "Fifty Shades Darker."
Dornan, on the other hand, has noticeably had a more relaxed schedule since filming "Fifty Shades of Grey." Curious minds inevitably made the comparison between the "Fifty Shades Darker" stars and wondered if, perhaps, Dornan does not feel the slightest bit overshadowed by Johnson.
Johnson starred in "Black Mass" with Johnny Depp and Benedict Cumberbatch and played the title role in "Chloe and Theo." Johnson was also the lead in "A Bigger Splash" and will also be seen in the comedy "How To Be Single" with Rebel Wilson. Latinos Health reports that Johnson will also be seen in a lead role in "The Sound of Metal" with Academy-nominated "The Danish Girl's" Matthias Schoenaerts.
Dornan, on the other hand, is busy filming for "The Fall" Season 3 where he stars with "X-Files" star Gillian Anderson. Before "Fifty Shades of Grey," the Irish actor was seen in the thriller "The 9th Life of Louis Drax," "Flying Home" with "Buffy" actor Anthony Head and "New Worlds."
In earlier interview with People, Dornan expressed his excitement over returning to his "Fifty Shades of Grey" role. "I'm looking forward to embodying Christian again - and getting a chance to show more of him," Dornan said. The statement effectively dislodged rumors that Dornan was reluctant about reprising his "Fifty Shades of Grey" involvement and in fact might not even return for "Fifty Shades Darker."
Johnson is just as happy to get on with "Fifty Shades Darker." The New York Daily reports that Johnson, whose favorite films growing up were Macaulay Culkin's "Home Alone" and Julie Andrews' "Mary Poppins," is quite tongue in cheek over negative reviews of her performance in "Fifty Shades of Grey."
"If people are into my work, great. But I just want to enjoy my job," Johnson expressed. "Artists are complicated and sensitive people, you know? At least, I am a complicated and sensitive person."
