"Thor 3" star Chris Hemsworth, who has just finished the Moby Dick inspired "In the Heart of The Sea," is now also part of Tourism Australia. The "Thor 3" actor is, apparently, the new global ambassador for Australia and is at the heart of "There's Nothing Like Australia" campaign. Fortuitously Hemsworth's "Thor: Ragnarok" will also film in Australia.
Talking about "Thor: Ragnarok" to The Huffington Post, Hemsworth revealed that he has already had discussions about "Thor 3." Apparently, "Thor: Ragnarok" intends to inject more humor than was seen in "Thor: The Dark World."
"My intention and discussions earlier were to make it more of an adventure and to get back some of the humor from the earlier versions of 'Thor and even extend it from there to make it [have] more humor," Hemsworth said. "[It would] be more kind of fish-out-of-water with those characters and put them in experiences and places they're not used to being in, so you can see different personalities evolve. The director [Taika Waititi], I think, is the perfect fit for that kind of change."
"Thor 3" director Taika Waititi is known for his off-beat humor, which come through in his films as "What We Do in the Shadows" and "Boy." He takes over from "Thor: The Dark World" director Alan Taylor, who also directed Arnold Schwarzenegger's "Terminator Genisys."
Hemsworth mentioned that Hulk will be making an appearance in "Thor 3." In the course of the interview, Hemsworth was asked what his alternate weapon of choice would be without Mjolnir -Thor's hammer.
"Maybe the Hulk-busting suit," Hemsworth said with a laugh. "That would come in handy, wouldn't it?" Was this a semi-confirmation that the Hulk and a hammerless Thor will come to blows in "Thor 3?" This is a buzz that has been circulating about "Thor: Ragnarok."
According to Screen Rant, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige did say that "Thor 3" will feel very different from the first two "Thor" films with most scenes off Earth and Cate Blanchett signing up as the first lead female villain. Hulk joining Thor in "Thor: Ragnarok" is just one more treat in director Waititi's new playground.
Yahoo! reports that actor Mark Ruffalo, who plays the Hulk, gave this related and interesting view on Hulk's activities, including "Thor 3." "I'd love to do a Hulk movie, but that's beyond my control," Rufallo said. "It's controlled by Universal. Marvel doesn't even hold the rights to it. So, it's not on the horizon. And I don't know if it will be. But we've worked a really interesting arc into 'Thor 3,' 'Avengers' 3 and 4 for Banner that I think will - when it's all added up - will feel like a Hulk movie, a standalone movie."
