Fans cannot stop talking about "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" movie despite the fact that it was released few weeks ago. With its global success and for having been compared to "Avatar," "Titanic" and "Jurassic" movies that are few of the highest-grossing films of all time, it comes to no surprise that Disney and Lucasfilm are planning to make a spinoff of the blockbuster film.
Reports about the "Star Wars" series creators conducting an audition for the role of a young Han Solo have been spreading like wildfire these past few weeks. While the Han Solo Spinoff remained unconfirmed, Variety reported that Disney and Lucasfilm already screened more than 2,000 aspiring actors, ageing 17 to 34-years old.
One name being attached to the yet-to-be-titled "Star Wars" spinoff is Anthony Ingruber. Several fans have been woofing for the actor to play the much-coveted role.
Filling the shoes of the great Harrison Ford could be a big challenge to whoever will replace the veteran actor. However, "Star Wars" fans are confident that Anthony could live up the expectations.
Anthony was first noticed in the Lee Toland Krieger's 2015 movie entitled "The Age of Adaline." Starring alongside Michiel Huisman and Blake Lively, the 25-year-old Canadian actor played the younger version of Harrison's character.
Aside from his impressive acting prowess, several fans observed Anthony's resemblance to "The Empire Strikes Back" star. Fortunately, one of Anthony's aspirations and the fans' clamors are parallel.
Speaking to WhatCulture, Anthony admitted that he would love to portray Han Solo. "I would love to portray the young Han Solo in the upcoming film," he said. "The fan enthusiasm has been really terrific and I have received so many messages from people telling me how much they would love to have me portray this character."
However, it seems like the film executives have other plans in mind as Anthony was not included in their list of possible actors to play the role. Reports have it that among the stars being considered to the next Han Solo are Logan Lerman, Dave Franco, Emory Cohen, Miles Teller, Jack Reynor, Scott Eastwood, Ansel Elgort and Blake Jenner.
Up to this writing, J.J. Abrams has not yet revealed who is he rooting for Harrison's replacement. However, the "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" director has offered an advice and said to whoever will be selected to watch "Raiders of the Lost Ark" as "It'll be right there."
