Pop star Celine Dion is having a very difficult and tragic year thus far. She lost both her husband René Angélil and her brother Daniel Dion to cancer. Thankfully, the 47-year-old singer has many friends, family members, relatives and fans to support her during these trying times.
Celine Dion and her children with deceased husband René Angélil - 15-year-old René-Charles and 5-year-old twins Nelson and Eddy, along with Angélil's children from his two previous marriages -- Patrick, Jean-Pierre & Anne-Marie, wrote an emotional and heartfelt letter for all of the people who supported them during these difficult times, as posted on Dion's official website. René Angélil died on Jan. 14 at age 73 while Daniel died two days after at age 59.
"My family and I are deeply touched by the outpouring of love and support from so many people who have touched our lives during these past few days. We have felt your love for René, and your prayers and compassion have helped us during this most difficult time... more than you'll ever know. I thank you from the bottom of my heart," stated in the letter.
The celebrity family also thanked the Quebec Government for providing René Angélil with National Funerals. They also expressed their gratitude for those people and organizations who attended the funeral. On a separate letter posted in Dion's official Facebook account, she described her late husband as gentle, generous, kind and a visionary.
PEOPLE reported that the live-streamed funeral attended by hundreds of people was held on Jan. 22 at the Notre-Dame Basilica in Montreal, which is also where René Angélil and Celine Dion were married in 1994.
"You are a tough act to follow ... I promise you here that we're all going to live up to your standards." René-Charles said during his eulogy at his father's funeral.
