"Deadpool" is not yet hitting the theaters until February 12, but the rumors about the second sequel of the superhero movie is making noise. It has been said that the next installment of the Ryan Reynolds film will feature Wolverine.
The latest trailer of "Deadpool" highlighted the fight of Colossus and Angel Dust, which instantly made waves and led to the speculations that the metal-clawed character will appear in the next sequel. However, as signature star of Wolverine, Hugh Jackman, already bid goodbye to his iconic role, it is now a big question if he's going to do that part again.
Hence, the 47-year-old actor already slammed the reports as he released his official statement about the issue, according to Inquisitr. "I've never thought about it till now, but doing something with Ryan - he's awesome - that's always attractive to me. But I think you've probably got several other people lined up to play [Wolverine]," he said.
To recall, in 2015, the Australian actor cleared himself that he's done playing the role of the legendary mutant. In fact, it has been two decades since he started to play as Wolverine before he decided to finally rest.
However, it is quite risky for "Deadpool 2" to star another actor as Wolverine as fans already loved Jackman playing it. Meanwhile, the husband of Deborra-Lee Furness confirmed that "The Wolverine 3" is already in the works.
This will be last the installment from the Wolverine story before he will officially resign from the character. "We have a script," he told Collider, as published by Den of Geek.
"To tell you, two days ago I got that the full finished - well, it's not finished, but we're getting super close - as you can see by the rate of my facial hair. That might give you a good clue that perhaps... yeah, it's sooner rather than later," he added. "The Wolverine 3" will start its production later this year and is set to hit the theaters on March 2017.
