‘xXx: The Return of Xander Cage' Release Date, Cast, News and Update: Vin Diesel Casts an Australian Actress

Actor and producer of "xXx: The Return of Xander Cage" Vin Diesel is going to start filming the third installment as he added a new character with Toni Collette. The Australian actress will play the role of a bureaucrat from an intelligent agency.

According to Hollywood Reporter, the movie will start rolling in February and already has the cast lineup composed of Tony Jaa, Jet Li, "Vampire Diaries" star Nina Dobrev, Bollywood star Deepika Padukone and Ruby Rose from "Orange is the New Black."

The film will be directed by D.J. Caruso while the script is written by F. Scott Frazier. "xXx: The Return of Xander Cage" will be entirely shot in Toronto and Dominican Republic. However, the exact plot details of the film are not yet confirmed as the 48-year-old actor and his team is trying to keep everything under wraps.

However, sources and insiders revealed that there will be two teams of bad-asses that will go head-to-head. Additionally, in spite of not having any concrete news about Collette's character, it has been said that she will be the antagonist of Xander Cage, Cinema Blend added.

She might play as a high-ranking intelligence officer, who will contradict the thrill seeking extreme sports enthusiast's weird doings. To recall, Xander Cage was left lifeless, but, as the rumor has it, he will be revived secretly and will take new dangerous assignments from his agent.

Evidently, the 43-year-old actress joined a vast array of "wildly eclectic cast." Diesel will be back in his main role while Samuel L. Jackson will reprise Agent Augustus Eugene Gibbons.

Also, Ice Cube will be brought to life as Darius Stone from "xXx: State of the Union." And as Diesel's Triple X movie is known for its death defying stunts, "xXx: The Return of Xander Cage," which will be released in 2017, will be full of "high-octane" stunts, such as snowboarding, motorcycle jumping and many more.
