"Game of Thrones" star Sophie Turner talked about her new characters as Jean Grey in the upcoming film, "X-Men: Apocalypse." The 19-year-old star even admitted that her role and James McAvoy's Charles Xavier have a sweet kind of relationship.
"They have this unspoken bond because he's telepathic as well, he's gone through the same things," the Young Artist Award nominee told Digital Spy, as published by Cinema Blend. "They have a really sweet relationship."
In fact, she said that she's like a "surrogate daughter" to the 36-year-old actor's alter ego. "He's very powerful and he sees that growing in her. He wants to protect her and help her control her powers, but also help her access the best of her ability," she added.
It has been known that Professor X is one of the most powerful telepath and founder of Xavier's School For Gifted Youngsters. However, it is not surprising that he will be protected of her as she's one of his precious students.
But, as she's obviously afraid of him, it just means that he is quite "extra possessive and vigilant" on Turner's portrayal as the younger mutant. Meanwhile, many are wondering if Hugh Jackman will have an appearance in "X-Men: Apocalypse."
However, the film's director Bryant Singer also told Digital Spy that he can't talk about the issue as the 47-year-old star neither confirm nor deny that he will have an appearance. But, there might still be a possibility that he will have a cameo role in the said movie.
To recall, Comic Book Resources reported the soon-to-be-released "Wolverine 3" would be the producer's last portrayal as the clawed superhero. In fact, screenwriter Simon Kinberg admitted that they will have a hard time to recast anyone as James Howlett or Logan.
"Honestly, I can't imagine anybody else playing the part, and there're not too many characters I can say that for," the 42-year-old "X-Men" film franchise producer said. "X-Men: Apocalypse" is set to hit the theaters on May 27, 2016.
