Mysterious priest who suddenly appeared at the scene of a car crash was recently identified, reports on TheBlaze confirmed.
The priest, Rev. Patrick Dowling who works with the Diocese of Jefferson County came out after posting a comment section of a Catholic news site.
According to a report on TheBlaze, Rev. Dowling anointed a victim at a head-on car crash site and then suddenly disappeared.
A lot of people assumed that the priest was an angel or a deceased Catholic saint but it turns out that the Good Samaritan was a faith leader, caring enough to help those in need.
Spokesperson Deacon Dan Joyce, the head of communications for the diocese provided a statement to TheBlaze confirming the identity of Rev. Dowling and his involvement in the said incident.
Joyce told sources that Rev. Dowling was traveling to Hwy 19 between mass assignments that morning when he chanced upon the crash.
Fr. Dowling told TheBlaze that he was more than happy to have helped those who were in need of prayers and support during that trying time.
He also confirmed that he wasn't the only one who helped victims Aaron Smith and Katie Lentz because there were also several other good Samaritans at the crash site.
Fr. Dowling came out after a post on the National Catholic Register was written in an attempt to search for the miracle priest slash mystery hero.
The priest shared what he did on site with TheBlaze and said that he anointed and absolved Katie, one of the victims and prayed that her leg would no longer hurt.
