The "Celebration of Harry Potter" at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Universal Orlando Resort turned out to be a salute to the late Alan Rickman. Fans gathered outside of the London façade and raised all their wands to pay tribute and honor for Professor Severus Snape, played by the deceased.
This is the first time that supporters of the J.K. Rowling novel were joined together after the actor's demised. Hence, they all took the chance to bid their final goodbye by celebrating his life as a performer and his portrayal of the once-hated-then-loved character, according to Cinema Blend.
"Harry Potter" enthusiasts donned their wizard robes to pay their last respect for the English director. In fact, the park's Professor Snape impersonators even joined in the moment.
Everyone was assembled in the place's area dedicated to Harry Potter's version of London, which was also Rickman's hometown. To recall, he died on Jan. 14 at the said country because of cancer.
Meanwhile, other "Harry Potter" stars who attended the event were Rupert Grint, who was known as Ron Weasley and his film sister, Bonnie Wright as Ginny Weasley were reunited, E! Online reported. Matthew Lewis, who played Neville Longbottom, was also in attendance together with Katie Leung as Cho Chang and Evanna Lynch as Luna Lovegood.
The 24-year-old star and the love interest of Harry Potter shared her snap on Instagram with her onscreen brother. "Family time," she captioned the photo and used the hashtag "#stillnoredheademoji."
Furthermore, many were surprised to see the 26-year-old stage actor Lewis with his unrecognizable look. His beard and mustache stole the spotlight, but he later explained that he’s busy doing Season 5 of “Ripper Street,” where facial hair is badly needed and part of the wardrobe.
The event also thought fans how to do wand duels as they allowed attendees to take wand master class. Watch the emotional video as fans say goodbye to the great Alan Rickman.
