Nick Lachey is enjoying his new role as a father.
The 38-year-old singer and his "Wipeout" host wife Vanessa welcomed their first son on Sept.12. The new addition to the family, a baby boy named Camden John, and the experience of parenthood has brought infinite joy to the couple.
"Officially in cheesy dad mode," Nick shared his happiness on Twitter.
"Camden is easily the most amazing thing that has happened in my life. @VanessaLachey and i are truly blessed!"
Camden, weighed 8 pounds and 9 ounces at birth and the new parents were literally over the moon by his arrival.
"We are incredibly proud to announce the birth of our beautiful baby boy, Camden John Lachey," the couple told People magazine in a statement. "Born today at 6:54 p.m., he came into this world at 8 lbs., 9 oz. and 21 inches. Love has truly been redefined for both of us."
Vanessa and Nick became a couple after their first meeting during the shooting of Nick's music video, "What's Left of Me." After tying the knot in 2011, the couple announced their pregnancy news in March, during a taping of "Live! With Kelly" and in June they revealed gender of their baby.
The father-to-be, impatiently waiting to meet his little boy had earlier opened up with the media.
"We're just excited to move onto the next phase and meet this little guy," he told Us Weekly. "You see him in sonograms and you feel him move -- you just want to meet him!"
