Latest "Sons of Anarchy" prequel rumors are teasing that a popular A-list celeb will be playing the show's titular role. According to recent reports, Brad Pitt has been eyed to join the cast as John Teller, Jax Teller's father.
Pitt's character will be very crucial to the new show as it will reportedly focus on John Teller's early years. "At some point I do have plans to hopefully do the prequel, which I do see as a one-off 10- or 12-episode thing where we begin in Nam and see John Teller and Piney and see how that relationship got created, and bring them back to the States and the obvious external dynamics that were going on with the country and the perception of the war and what an odd kind of perception these vets got when they returned home," showrunner Kurt Sutter told Deadline.
Charlie Hunnam who plays Jax Teller on "Sons of Anarchy" was also excited to find out that Pitt will reportedly play his father in the prequel.
"Did you read that about Brad Pitt maybe playing my dad?" Hunnam said in an interview with Men's Journal. "Brad Pitt as John Teller. How awesome would that be?"
But when asked if he will reprise his role, Hunnam has yet to give a clear answer. The actor previously confirmed to Men's Journal that Sutter is busy with the prequel, but clarified that the showrunner hasn't approached him to offer him a spot on the new show.
It was previously reported that Hunnam didn't want to return and work with Sutter because of some unresolved arguments on the set of "Sons of Anarchy." The actor however cleared that air and said that although there were times that he and the showrunner had misunderstandings, they both maintained a very professional relationship.
Do you think Brad Pitt will be a good addition to the "Sons of Anarchy" prequel?
