A 9-Year-Old Girl Dream Project: "1K Barbies For 1K Girls"

Gianni Graham, a 9-year-old girl from Norfolk, Virginia has dreamt of giving 1,000 Barbie dolls to homeless kids of her age. Her dream project is called "1K Barbies for 1K Girls."

"Girls in shelters deserve the same things we have," the kind little girl told the ABC News.

MSN Lifestyle reports that Gianni's bedroom is filled with over 700 of the famous dolls created by Mattel. Gianni's mother exclaimed that there are Barbie dolls everywhere and that they are living in 'Barbie land.'

"Gianni has no plans to open or play with the Barbies," the proud mother said. According to her, Gianni isn't tempted at all to play with the dolls. Gianni is wrapping each Barbie doll in boxes in pink paper and scribbled notes that say, "I hope this brings you joy," and "This is given to you as a friend."

The idea of Gianni about her dream project just came when she was playing.

"I was playing one day, and it just came to me that I could collect Barbies to help girls in need," the little girl said. Gianni also makes Christmas cards and gives them to cancer patients at the community's children's hospital during Christmas, according to her mother.

Many people praised the dream project of the little girl including actor Ashton Kutcher who has a 1-year-old daughter. They are helping Gianni to come up with 1,000 Barbie dolls by donating this iconic doll. Gianni's began with 5 Barbies and increased to 500 after a local news station heard the touching dream project of Gianni.
