Several fans have been waiting for the comeback of the well-loved "Sherlock" series. While viewers have to wait a little longer for the show's season 4, creator Steven Moffat had shared shocking revelations about the forthcoming return of the popular American TV series.
Steven recently sat down with Entertainment Weekly and spilled some major details about "Sherlock" Season 4. As a matter of fact, he said that Sherlock Holmes (Benedict Cumberbatch) and his close pal Dr. Watson (Martin Freeman) will be experiencing consequences in their lives, which suggests that there is a possibility of a major death.
"You can sort of see that in the way series 3 went," Steven stated. "It's great that he's back and John's [Martin Freeman] got a wife and Sherlock [Benedict Cumberbatch] likes her and isn't it adorable, and then it all goes to hell. Remember where we left them."
"[Season 4] is going to be... I suppose you'd say... consequences. It's consequences. Chickens come to roost," he added. "It's dark in some ways -- obviously it's great fun and a Sherlock Holmes romp and all that -- but there's a sense of... things... coming back to bite you."
The speculations of a major death in "Sherlock" Season 4 was supported by a report from The Telegraph. It was Mark Gatiss who spilled some details about the death of Mary Watson (Amanda Abbington).
"While we play fast and loose with the original stories, we generally follow the trajectory of what Conan Doyle did. So [Watson] gets married and then Mary dies -- so at some point presumably she'll die," the actor stated during an interview with the news outlet.
With Mark's revelation, it could be possible that "Sherlock" is sticking to its original plot wherein Mary died. In fact, recent reports surrounding the Internet says that Mary might die during childbirth. Whether or not this speculation is true, no one knows it yet as no official statement from the production has been released yet.
Meanwhile, Mark said that fans should prepare themselves for the upcoming "Sherlock" Season 4 as new and exciting scenes are bound to happen. "Just because it's in the stories doesn't mean it'll happen in the series because there's an awful lot of changes and an awful lot of places to go and things to do," he told The Telegraph.
