Pokemon's 20th anniversary has been taking an interesting turn of events. The Pokemon Company's celebration piece, "Famous Detective Pikachu: The Birth of a New Partnership," with Nintendo apparently inspired fan clamor. Pokemon fans actually took the opportunity of the Nintendo 3DS detective game "Famous Detective Pikachu: The Birth of a New Partnership" being currently only available in Japanese to look for an English-language voice actor for Pikachu.
Yahoo! reports that Pokemon fans are petitioning Nintendo to bring actor Danny DeVito in to voice for Pokemon's detective Pikachu in the Nintendo 3DS game. The petition filed in Change.org is titled "Get Danny DeVito to Voice the English Version of Detective Pikachu."
The petition has as much 40,000 signatures by now. A few Pokemon followers may have difficulty associating Danny DeVito with Pikachu in Nintendo 3DS. However, DeVito's diverse talents are unquestionable with such roles as Penguin in "Batman Returns," Bill Rago in "Renaissance Man" and Dave Schmerz in "Wiener-Dog."
While fans wait and see if their petition will bring "Famous Detective Pikachu: The Birth of a New Partnership" and Danny DeVito together in the Nintendo 3DS game, the Pokemon celebration continues. As part of the Pokemon 20th anniversary events, the first three Pokemon games (Red, Blue, and Yellow) will be rereleased by Nintendo along with a new Nintendo 3DS Pokemon bundle.
Gamespot also reports that Nintendo is giving a Mythical Pokemon every month for free, beginning February. As a first offering, gamers can get a level 100 Mew. This Pokemon monster offer is available from the first until then 24th of each month.
Uniland reports that gamers should take note that the Mythical Pokemon codes have expiry dates. In the succeeding months, Nintendo gamers will be able to get Celebi, Jerachi, Darkrai, Manaphy, Shaymin, Arceus, Victini, Keldeo, Genesect and Meloetta.
