"Lord of the Rings" and "Warcraft" are now being compared because of their same concept of having Orc creatures. However, Clancy Brown, the fantasy race akin to goblins himself said that the monstrous creature is much better on his film than the classic one.
The J.R.R. Tolkien book series has already set the epitome of epic fantasy and everything that comes near to that category can't be help but compare. But, as the 57-year-old actor played the role of the "Blackhand the war chief of the horde," he based his character on the renowned 1954 novel.
"They're similar to the Lord of the Rings orcs," the voice artist said. "Except tougher and better looking and smarter and in every way better than the Lord of the Rings guys."
The husband of Jeanne Johnson made sure that he cleared his statement that just his character as an orc was far better compared to the orcs of "Lord of the Rings." According to Cinema Blend, a lot of people agreed that the creatures from "Warcraft" were superior to "The Hobbit" sequel.
As seen in the movie's trailer, the orcs were also bloodthirsty just like in the "Lord of the Rings," but they were finding ways to solve their problem. Evidently, the beasts on this film were using their heads and were not just subservient.
Epicstream noted that "the two films orcs' each serve a different function and universe which explains the way they look." Also, appearance wise, the orcs in the Tolkien's works were not "better looking" as they are known for having beastly faces.
When it comes to endurance, fans still have to wait until May 25, 2016 to judge these creatures and fully compare it the "Lord of the Rings." Meanwhile, Brown is known for effectively portraying all the roles he plays and doing the CGI orc will be perfectly justified with him around.
