Famous fashion photographer Nigel Barker recently opened up her working relationship with supermodel Tyra Banks for the 18 seasons of doing "America's Next Top Model." Being Bank's co-judge on the show for that long, clearly he has a lot to say about the supermodel's life, especially pertaining to becoming a parent.
Banks recently made headlines for announcing the arrival of her first son, York, with her boyfriend and one of "America's Next Top Model" photographers Erik Asla. Lots of people were surprised about this news, but not Barker. The former co-judge of the show and colleague of Banks opened up to People Magazine saying, "I know it's something she really wanted to do."
In an interview with the said publication during the Perry Ellis show, he also mentioned that he has not talked to Tyra about it yet, but he is very happy that she is now a mother. Banks and Asla told the press that their baby came from a gestational surrogate and Barker was thrilled when he heard about the news.
Barker is also already a father to his children Jack, 10 and Jasmine, 7, and still married to his wife Cristen. He said that ever since he started working with the supermodel for the show, he already saw how she was desperate in becoming a mother. It was evident when she first held Barker's son, Jack. He recalled that the look in Tyra's eyes that time just showed how she really wanted to become a mother. Barker added, "She often talked about it, so I'm really happy for her."
Working with Tyra for years made Barker really confident that she could handle being a mother, as he knows her to be a very committed woman and she is someone who knows how to compartmentalize.
Joggling being a model, a host, a businesswoman and a Harvard student, there is no doubt that Tyra Banks is capable and totally fit to become a responsible parent.
