Not too long ago, "Fast and Furious" fans had no certainty as to whether "Fast and Furious" would have any future with the loss of key character Brian O'Conner when actor Paul Walker died in a car collision. According to a recent announcement by "XXX: The Return of Xander Cage" star Vin Diesel, "Fast and Furious" is not just confirmed for "Fast and Furious 8" but also for "Fast and Furious 9" and 10.
Life and Style reports that Vin Diesel made the confirmation on the final trilogy of "Fast and Furious" through his Instagram account. "Happy Toretto Tuesday..." Diesel posted, clearly still in "XXX: The Return of Xander Cage" mode."P.s. The studio has asked me to release some very big Fast news... Give me a minute though, for I am still in that Xander state of Mind."
Vin Diesel posted another photo afterward still transitioning between "XXX: The Return of Xander Cage" and "Fast and Furious." "Xander returns...." Diesel wrote. "As most of you know I like to stay in character for the most part when given the opportunity to make magic. However, it was Toretto Tuesday and the studio gave me big news to share... So I will share it..."
Diesel eventually did share the big news posting an image with the new "Fast and Furious" information. "2 Decades, 10 Films, 1 Saga," Diesel posted. Along with these words were the release dates for "Fast and Furious" sequels: 8 (April 14, 2017), 9 (April 19, 2019) and 10 (April 2, 2021).
Daily Mail reports that Ron Meyer, who is NBC Universal's vice-chairman, confirmed that Paul Walker will also still feature in "Fast and Furious 8." "Straight Outta Compton" director F. Gary Gray will be directing "Fast and Furious 8." In the meantime, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Jason Statham and Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson are confirmed to be in the sequel.
Diesel promised that F. Gary Gray's style will add to the texture of "Fast and Furious 8." "We have a director who is going to bring the darkness out and bring out the character," Diesel said.
