Singer Robbie Williams is a new dad.
The 38-year-old singer and his wife Ayda Field welcomed their first child, a baby girl, who weighed 7 pounds and 4 ounces at birth on Tuesday.
"Praise be, it's Theodora Williams, affectionately known as Teddy," the proud father shared the happy news on his blog. "Baby, Mummy and Daddy are all Rockin."
According to reports, the Turkish American actress, Field went into labor eight days before due date and was rushed to the Portland Hospital in London.
As the due date approached, the singer expressed his concern about his wife, having gestational diabetes giving birth before completing her gestational period, new! Magazine reported.
The new dad's blog has been literally pouring with messages from well-wishers since Williams announced the birth.
"Many congrats to Robbie & Ayda so pleased for you both, she will bring you much joy and happiness, :) what a beautiful name hope to see a photo of your little angel soon bet she is gorgeous!! Take care of each other," one of the messages appeared on the blog, said.
Williams and Field, tied the knot in 2010, after a four-year courtship. In March the couple confirmed expecting a baby and later revealed the gender of the baby.
'We had sex, it works!" Metro quoted the singer's statement after announcing pregnancy in March.
The couple was also very particular in giving traditional names to their daughter.
"There's no mad celebrity baby name. It's a very steadfast old school name," Metro quoted the singer as saying.
