Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's baby girl, North West, made her first trip to Oklahoma to Oklahoma to pay respect to West's grandfather, Portwood Williams Sr., who died at age 98 on Aug. 10.
The reality star and rapper took their daughter for her first trip ever to Oklahoma. "That's why they weren't at Kylie's birthday," a source told People about their absence at Kardashian's little sister's sweet 16 bash. "They brought North, too. Her first trip."
Kim Kardashian first met met West's grandfather when he took her to meet his family in Oklahoma City in February. "She is beautiful - and she's just as sweet as she is beautiful - and that's what I liked about her!" Williams Sr. told The News at the time. "She was just down to earth, she's rich, and those kinds of people, they've got everything."
West's grandfather was a veteran of Oklahoma's civil rights sit-ins of the 1950's. Oklahoma is also the final resting place for West's late mother, Donda West. Donda died at the age of 58 on Nov. 10, 2007, of complications following cosmetic surgery.
Earlier last week, the couple were spotted with their little one as they took her for her monthly checkup at the pediatrician. The couple looked content and relaxed and were joined by what appeared to be the nanny who carried baby North in the car seat, covered with a blanket so as to note be seen.
At one point, a smiling West, wearing a pair of $700 Trussardi "1911" fringe suede sneakers, stopped to tie a sweater around Kardashian's waist and take a large $20,000 Hermes leather bag she had been lugging.
