'Narcos' Season 2 Release Date, Plot, Spoilers & Update: Upcoming Run Will Be The End Of The Netflix Show? Season 3 Will Not See The Light Of Day

Fans eagerly await more details about "Narcos" season 2's plot, cast and release date. While reports have yet to give out more specific details about the upcoming run, speculations have already sent the web into a frenzy with possible events that could transpire in the new episodes.

According to new reports, season 2 could have a much slower pace as compared with the previous run considering how season 1 has already covered a significant number of years in Pablo Escobar's life. Several rumors have also claimed that fans will get to see the end of the drug lord's life and that the show will immediately shift the focus to other drug kingpins that rose to power after his death in 1993.

"With Escobar's fate pretty much sealed in 'Narcos' Season 2, there are a lot of speculations that Netflix will look into the life stories of the other heads of cartels that rose to power after his death," VCPost reported.

This speculation has fueled more rumors that "Narcos" season 2 could actually be the last for the Netflix series. Talking to /Film, producer Eric Newman shared that the future of the show is still in the shadows as of writing. He also confirmed that Escobar, played by Wagner Moura, will indeed meet his end in the upcoming run.

"Trust me, if we could find a way to keep him alive and keep Wagner on the show. He will die," he stated. "There are any number of things that can happen after. We have not committed to one or the other. Obviously, there are a lot of other stories in this world that continue on beyond him."

The upcoming run is slated for an August 2016 release.
