Despite many fans clamoring for "Half Life 3" to be confirmed, Valve has yet to decide on the fate of the highly-anticipated third installment. Rumors have been circulating online about the possible reasons why the game has not yet made it to consoles, but none have been really confirmed.
However, a new legitimate leak has allegedly surfaced on a Reddit forum. The alleged leak was quickly deleted by so-called Valve representatives, making more fans believe that it could actually be something hopeful.
"At around 3:00 PM EST today, a user made a post on the Half-Life subreddit claiming to have inside knowledge of Half-Life 3," a user shared on the online forum. "It was later deleted."
"A moderator of that sub confirmed that the user had sent proof of their legitimacy. At around 4:30 PM EST, the thread was removed because Valve apparently contacted the mod and asked him to remove it."
Despite being very exciting at first, the user later confirmed that the whole thing was more likely a hoax despite the alleged leaker showing proof of his conversation with Valve. Fans will have to wait and see for further details.
It was previously reported that the focus has not been on the "Half Life 3" since the beginning as Valve has confirmed that the highly anticipated title is not in development. New reports are now claiming that "Left 4 Dead 3" could be a more viable option for developers to release.
"Valve has been on the development of multiplayer games and its internet-based gaming platform called Steam," Master Herald noted.
"With the massive success of multiplayer games 'Dota 2' and 'Counterstrike' and other games on its Steam platform, it is almost sure that 'Left 4 Dead 3' will definitely be released. As a matter of fact, there have been reports that 'Left 4 Dead 3' is already under development and Valve Corporation is just keeping everything under wraps."
