As Rockstar North boss Leslie Benzies has left the company, the future of "Grand Theft Auto 6" becomes uncertain. Fans are worried about whether or not the developer will continue the franchise game.
Early last month, the game developer confirmed to Kotaku that Benzies has been away on a sabbatical and might not return to the company. The question is what it will happen to the much anticipated "Grand Theft Auto 6."
According to the statement published on the developer's website Kotaku, on Sept. 1, 2014, Leslie Benzies went on sabbatical and "has decided not to return to work for the company." Benzies worked for the game developer company Rockstar over the last 15 years.
The news are concerning for all the fans who have been waiting for "Grand Theft Auto 6." However, the game developer assured that Rockstar North will continue to function normally.
Rumors fueling the hype for the game "GTA 6" continue to pop up. Fans are still hoping that the next racing game will come soon on the market. Some reports are suggesting that the sixth installment of "GTA" franchise may arrive along with new game consoles PlayStation 5 and Xbox 2. This is expected to happen in around two to four years from now.
According to Christian Post, another rumor in forums and the social media states that the next installment will feature a female character and that Eva Mendes will be behind the character's voice. This would be the first time for the game franchise to have a female lead if this information turns out to be true. However, until now, the developer Rockstar Games has kept silent about the future of "Grand Theft Auto 6," despite all these rumors.
Fans of the franchise game could enjoy. Meanwhile, "The Last of Us" mod recently added in "Grand Theft Auto 5." Players can get a feel of a post-apocalyptic setting with the tweak on the streets of Los Santos.
