Just a few days away from the gore and carnage of "The Walking Dead" Season 6 midseason premiere and already news are rolling in about the fate of Rick Grimes and his ragtag band. With Alexandria falling around their ears in "The Walking Dead" Season 6 midseason finale, bets are hedged that Rick Grimes and the survivors will leave Alexandria behind in "The Walking Dead" Season 6 midseason premiere.
Steven Yeun's interview with Entertainment Weekly gave this tone. Maggie is pregnant and Glenn has known about this even before he was trapped by the horde in "The Walking Dead" Season 6. When Glenn reunites with Maggie, building a safe existence for their baby will be Glenn's main goal much like it was to Rick Grimes when baby Judith was born.
"But if there are more civilizations out there, that's a fact that probably for Glenn, based on what type of people they are, will be a positive experience because there are limitations that Alexandria has at this point," Yeun explained. "They don't have a real doctor to birth the child, and maybe another civilization might."
"They maybe don't have food as readily available as they would like, because things are so turned upside down now - that all the progress that they thought they made and all the progress that they're striving for kind of took a couple steps back," Yeun continued. Whether this happens right away or further on in "The Walking Dead" Season 6 will unfold soon enough.
Entertainment Weekly also spoke with Danai Gurira, who plays tough-on-the-outside Michonne. Gurira expressed that although Michonne really did care for Alexandria and wanted what was good for Judith and Carl Grimes and the others, Deanna's last words to her in "The Walking Dead" Season 6 midseason finale were significant.
"She [Michonne] said in the episode where Tyreese died, 'We've been out here too long.' And she was seeing it affects her people, so I don't think that's really the shift. I don't think that's necessarily a change for her," Gurira said. "She's always really cared about this place and wanted it to be a home for Carl and for Judith and for everybody, a place where they could stabilize and reconnect to their humanity in the more level-minded way."
"But I feel Deanna went a little further into Michonne with that question she asked her, about what do you want?" Gurira pointed out. "It's something more than being dutiful to the group and to those things. It's something else, and I think that Michonne's journey is to figure out what that something is."
