'The Division' News & Updates: PC Version Kept 'In Check' By Ubisoft With Consoles

Ubisoft has released a statement declaring that the PC version of "The Division" game has not been "held back" by the developer. However, the fans community has perceived that the console editions really held back the PC version.

According to Ubisoft, cited by the website Destructoid, the PC version of the game was developed from the ground up. The games company expressed its hopes that players will enjoy the features that the PC version has to offer. The feedback received from players who participated in the recent closed beta was positive.

The impression that Ubisoft has kept the PC version of "The Division" intentionally "in check" with the console editions comes from the fact that the developer has introduced some PC-like settings to consoles as well. In a YouTube interview Ubisoft has explained that they "always considered the PC as a separate platform" and they have to keep it in check with the consoles. The PC build features a lot more customized options than the console.

An Ubisoft developer who spoke recently about the third-person shooter's PC edition confirmed that the company purposefully kept the game in check with the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One editions. According to Game Spot, the developer declared on a Team Epiphany preview (via NeoGAF) that the games company has "always considered the PC as a separate platform".

According to the developer, it would be unfair to push the game too far from the consoles and for this reason "The Division" has to be kept in check with them. However, it is also good to have a dedicated PC build.

"The Division" console editions will offer some graphical settings similar as on the PC version and players will be able to improve frame rate.

The game will be available later this month as an open beta for players who had access to the closed beta. "The Division" is expected to be released on the market on March 8, on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
