'Pokemon Go' Release Date, News & Update: More Details To Come This March; Niantic Talks About Pokemon Evolution and Expansion

The highly-anticipated video game "Pokemon Go" has been creating hype ever since it was revealed to be in development. "Pokemon Go," which started as an April fool's joke between Google and Nintendo, is finally taking form and although the release date is yet to be announce, the game is on its way.

According to Niantic Labs, they will talk more about "Pokemon Go" on the upcoming GDC 2016. A lot of fans and gamers are speculating that Niantic Labs will reveal the release date during this time. The game developers are extremely keeping mum about release dates but they are not to secretive about what "Pokemon Go" is about.

Niantic Labs promises an out of this world experience with "Pokemon Go" as it uses augmented virtual reality where gamers can capture and train different creature in the real world. "Pokemon Go" will use GPS sensors and special accessories to give the gamers a real-time Pokemon game experience.

"Attendees will get a first-hand, in-depth look at how players are interacting and exploring the world with one another through Pokémon Go," that's how the page for Niantic CEO John Hanke describes the "Catch 'Em All: Pokémon Go" and Real World Gaming session happening at GDC 2016. Niantic Labs and the Pokemon Company just released a Super Bowl commercial and it showed something about "Pokemon Go."

Niantic Labs has also discussed about how "Pokemon Go" will revolutionize the gaming world on phone apps. "In about 2-3 years from now, we think game apps that can only be done in smartphones will become the mainstream," Setsuto Murai, president of Niantic Japan said.

The fact that "Pokemon Go" will be released in Android and iOS as a virtual reality game has already changed the gaming world. "Pokemon Go" is only the start of AR games and there is no doubt that expansions for "Pokemon Go" will happen.
