It's finally official now, Shakira is pregnant.
The 35-year-old singing sensation confirmed the news on her website. This is the first child of the singer with her boyfriend and Spanish soccer star Gerard Pique.
"As some of you may know, Gerard and I are very happy awaiting the arrival of our first baby!" she wrote. "At this time we have decided to give priority to this unique moment in our lives and postpone all the promotional activities planned over the next few days."
Along with the happy news, the singer expressed her regret of not performing in the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas.
"I was really looking forward to the amazing #iHeartRadio Music Festival, but will see you guys soon! Shak," she tweeted.
Speculations about the pregnancy were spreading like wild fire from a long time. Until the date the singer and her representatives were denying the news.
"Another false rumor. She is pregnant with new songs that are INCREDIBLE! She is very happy," Xavier Menos, one of the members of her personal staff, tweeted in June, according to Colombia Reports.
Shakira started dating Pique during the shooting of her famous song for the 2010 Soccer World Cup "Waka Waka." In Oct., Shakira's representatives denied rumors that the pair split.
After splitting with her long-time boyfriend Antonio de la Rua, oldest son of former Argentinian President Fernando de la Rua in Jan. 2011, Shakira officially confirmed her relationship with Gerard Pique in the same year.
The singer will be replacing Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green as a coach on the fourth season of "The Voice."
"Thanks for your affectionate messages & good vibes! I'm so excited to be a part of #TheVoice next to such talented colleagues. Shak," she wrote thanking her well-wishers on Twitter.
