Melissa George is pregnant.
The 37-year-old actress confirmed on Twitter, Sunday that she is expecting her first child with boyfriend Jean-David Blanc.
"Baby on the way! So so happy...xx" the mom-to-be, wrote.
George started dating French entrepreneur Blanc after her break-up with husband of 11 years, director Claudio Dabed. George and Dabed first met in 1998, tied the knot in 2000 and announced the split in 2011.
Early 2012, several media reports suggested that the differences of opinion between the actress and her ex-husband regarding a baby, led to the split. "I wanted children, yes," she told Herald Sun in March, adding that, "but I still have time. Now I can start from scratch."
She also revealed that her desire to become a mom became stronger as the days passed: "Some days, it rips my heart out," she told the website. "But whoever I have my baby with, I want to be proud of that man and I want to carry a child to a man who wants to do that as well. But, hey, I've got years when you think about it."
Months after the break-up with Dabed, George started dating the hip hop mogul Russell Simmons. But the romance didn't last long and the couple broke up in 2012.
George's relationship with Blanc started after the couple met at the BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) party in Feb. 2012.
The "Grey's Anatomy" actress shared her happiness of finally fulfilling her baby dreams with OK! magazine, recently.
"It's no secret that I've always wanted to be a mother, and every time I had a birthday I would just be a little bit sad," George, who turned 37 Aug. 6th said to the magazine.
"You don't mind clicking over another number when you've got something inside you, growing, that you've always dreamed about."
George, who is currently in her second trimester, is craving Mexican food. Though "The Good Wife" actress knows, her baby's gender, she wants to keep it a surprise for the others.
