'Scandal' Season 5 Spoilers: Annabeth Gish Join As Recurring

ABC's "Scandal" is going to have a comeback with the second half of Season five. It will start airing on WEWS Channel 5 on Thursday, Feb. 11.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the ABC drama is giving all of their time in kicking off into action when the 5th season returns. One of the exciting news is that Annabeth Gish has signed on for a recurring role for this drama series as per Deadline.

Gish, who is also on "The X-Files" revival on Fox, will be joining the cast of Shonda Rhimes series on ABC. Cartermatt reports that Gish is someone who needs Olivia Pope's help although her character wasn't exactly revealed yet.

There are a lot of speculations about her role as per the publication. They reported that she may be also a different fixer, someone who could help President Grant to finish his term in the Government in total success.

Also, the sources added that she could be one of the people who will help Mellie Grant through her race for becoming the next president. It was confirmed by The Hollywood Reporters that Mellie is officially running for president even she is surrounded by a new list of faces.

THR also reveals what Tony Goldwyn said in his recent talk about the season premiere jumping to another time when the drama series returns. For the length span of "Scandal," he was informed six but he is not quite sure if that's true or not.

He continued by saying that they are just getting on their way, not even in the main campaign yet for this season. He expects that it will not happen this season but for him, there will be a new president of the United States on "Scandal" through next season.

Meanwhile, Gish reprised her role as FBI Agent Monica Reyes at "The X-Files" from the first series. She was also seen on FX's "The Bridge" and "Sons Of Anarchy."
