Lindsay Lohan's father Michael Lohan owned up that bad parenting led his daughter to drugs and alcohol.
In an interview to Life & Style magazine, Michael said Lindsay is not at fault for her substance and alcohol abuse. "I don't think she should have taken any of the blame for what happened to her. It's my fault and Dina's (Lindsay's mother) fault. We put her in the middle of the divorce. Now it's up to me and Dina to make this better," he said.
Michael's comments came after his daughter's interview with Oprah Winfrey where she spoke about her drug use, party lifestyle and relationship with parents. She confessed of wanting to go to jail to "find some peace." "I think it was just to find some peace and just have no choice but to just sit and be," the 27-year-old told Winfrey. "I wasn't fighting at all. I just let go and was able to just be like 'OK you probably do know what's best,' because my idea of doing what's best for me has not worked in the past.' I came into it just really willing, really craving more spirituality. Really open and ready to get really honest."
Maybe this melted daddy's heart and made him rush to his daughter's defense."The healing in our family has really helped a lot. We really came together in helping her. I think she has really turned a corner on this. Lindsay is back to who she was, a very kindhearted and compassionate person. This is different than in the past She has finally surrendered and is taking her life seriously, " he said in the interview.
