NBC correspondents Jenna Wolfe and Stephanie Gosk are the proud parents of a little girl.
The 39-year-old Today anchor welcomed her first child, Harper Estelle with partner, NBC News foreign correspondent Gosk, Wednesday.
The new arrival weighed 7 pounds and 13 ounces at birth.
The proud parents shared their happiness on Twitter.
"First pic. We couldn't be happier. Thanks for all the great messages,"Gosk, wrote, after posting an adorable photo of the little girl and Wolfe, Aug 21.
"Fell madly in love w Harper Estelle tonight. Thx for the kind words and well wishes. Other than that I'm speechless," Wolfe, wrote, after posting a mug shot of the newborn, hours later posting another photo that showed Wolfe cuddling the baby: "Fell in love the moment I met you," she wrote.
During a chat with People magazine, the new mom explained the factors that influenced them while choosing their daughter's name.
"Estelle is my grandmother's name," Wolfe, told the magazine. "No matter what, we were always going to have Estelle and we fell in love with the Harper. It's the perfect combination of athleticism, gentleness, kindness, beauty and a little TV moxie, so we figured it was perfect."
To avoid confusion regarding one of the last names of the baby- Wolfed, the new parents revealed that it was actually Wolfe's legal name.
Well-wishers and fans of the journalist couple expressed their support and liking for the name.
"Love the name Harper. Congrats to them!!" one of the comments appeared on the People, read, while another one added: "Congratulations! What a beautiful name for a beautiful baby!"
Wolfe announced her pregnancy in March on Today.
"My girlfriend, Stephanie Gosk, who works here at NBC, and I are expecting a baby girl at the end of August," she said, according to E! News. "We're really excited."
Wolfe who used to update her pregnancy on the channel's blog, "Today Moms," informed her readers at 9.44 a.m. Aug 21st that that their baby can be expected soon.
"In all likelihood, this will be my last blog post before the baby is born," she wrote, on a blog titled, "Jenna Wolfe: Goodbye for now! When we meet again, I'll be a mom."
