It has been one year and a half since the online-only first shooter video game, "Destiny," was released in Sept. 2014. However, the much-awaited second sequel might not be launched this year, but as rumors have it, it might be in 2017.
According to Christian Post, since Nov. 2014, Activision was already working for "Destiny 2." Kotaku also noted that the next installment was originally set to be out on Sept. 2016, but it was said that the game developer was not yet ready.
Bungie was not fit to cater the demands of "Destiny" game enthusiasts for the new content. Also, the delay might be because of the resignation of Harold Ryan, the president of the said company, who was replaced by their former COO Pete Parsons.
"To the players of Destiny, I want you to know that my number one priority, and Bungie's, is and always has been to deliver great games that we can all share together," Parsons said, as noted by Collection Gaming Network. "I believe that Destiny is a one-of-a-kind experience. I also believe you have yet to see our studio's best work. My new role here at the studio will be entirely focused on fulfilling that promise."
The publication added that "Issues were noticed in Bungie's matchmaking during the SRL (Sparrow Racing League) event back in December, in which Bungie indicated the increased latency seen in the Crucible and increased matchmaking times are the result of SRL and the large amount of players queuing for SRL and should subside by the time SRL is done."
However, in spite of Parsons promised to continue the development of the franchise, it looks like that nothing has been fulfilled yet as there were no "new materials released." Latinos Health added that "Destiny" is now can be played through PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One and Xbox 360.
