'Divergent: Allegiant' Release Date, Cast & Update: Shailene Woodley Happy To Be Single But Falls In Love All The Time, 'Allegiant' Is Robert Schwentke Last 'Divergent' Direction

"Divergent: Allegiant" director Robert Schwentke's exit from the "Divergent" series, which stars Shailene Woodley as Tris and Theo James as Four, comes as a bit of a shocker. Schwentke took over directing "Divergent: Insurgent" from Neil Burger who directed "Divergent" and continued on to also direct "Divergent: Allegiant." However, despite this production issue with "Divergent: Ascendant," actress Shailene Woodley is reportedly enjoying her single status.

According to Variety, Robert Schwentke's decision not to continue onto "Divergent: Ascendant" comes from the need to take an overdue personal break. Deadline Hollywood assures that Schwentke remains in good terms with Lions Gate and that his resignation simply comes from having worked on "Divergent: Insurgent" and "Divergent: Allegiant" right next to each other.

Schwentke actually made no previous commitment to Lions Gate to direct "Divergent: Ascendant" but was simply expected to do so by fans. If the fact that Lions Gate decided to push the release of "Divergent: Ascendant" back to June 9, 2017 from its original March 24, 2017 has some significance is yet to be confirmed.

On the happy side despite reports that have linked Shailene Woodley to Filipino-Puerto Rican Nahko Bear, Woodley is still happily and truly single. E! News reports that Woodley is not averse to love at all but is simply enjoying her life right now. "I fall in love constantly," Woodley exclaimed. "But finding someone to share my life with-it's more difficult to fill those shoes. I'm very curious to see where my life ends up when it comes to partnership."

"I always think of my life as a pie," Woodley said further. "My pie is f--king fine. I've got the best pie! It's so delicious. If you want to add some ice cream and s--t on top, you are welcome to join the party, but you don't get to take a slice of my pie."

Despite the sizzling chemistry between Woodley and co-star Theo James, which is reportedly even more apparent in "Divergent: Allegiant," Fashion & Style recalls Woodley's sentiment about the thoughtful treatment of the Divergent series on the love angle between Tris and Four.

"For me, one of the things that I'm so passionate about in life is empowering young girls to reconnect with their own power," Woodley told The Daily Beast. "I feel very proud to be a part of a franchise that doesn't exploit young love, and doesn't exploit what that really means, and really treats it tenderly."

"Divergent: Allegiant" will be in theaters beginning March 18, 2016.
