'Iron Man 4' Release Date & Trailer: Robert Downey Jr. Tired, Weary Of Role, Leaving The Franchise?

There are swirling rumors that Robert Downey Jr. is not going to reprise his role as the iconic superhero, "Iron Man." As a result, fans of the movie franchise are really upset to learn that the 50-year-old star is already tired of portraying the billionaire philanthropist.

According to Youth Health Magazine, there are swirling rumors that Marvel is still trying to negotiate with the actor to play "Iron Man 4." In fact, the publishing company is willing to pay him $100 million just to take the role again.

Unfortunately, Downey turned down the offer as it has been said that he's already "grown weary" of doing the franchise. He, too, thinks that he's too old to be the genius playboy.

It has been known that the "Sherlock" star is going to be 51 this year and he will be 54 at the time that he will be doing "Iron Man 4." Many believed that he wouldn't be as sharp and strong compared when he was just starting the first movie sequel.

Hence, Christian Post reported the hearsays that Downey will be replaced a younger actor and movie will be rebooted. In fact, this move will benefit the Marvel Studios more as "Iron Man" films were always a sought after and a top earner in the box office.

Master Herald added that considering the change of lead actor, the company just have to pay a little lesser compared to Downey. Meanwhile, the husband of Susan Downey has been playing as "Iron Man" since 2008 and already appeared as the robotic superhero for five released movies.

In fact, he would be also seen in "Captain America: Civil War," which will be out in May. Also, "Iron Man" might be set to be featured in the two-part film of "Avengers: Infinity War," which is about to hit the theaters in 2018.
