Several fans are patiently waiting for the release of the most-anticipated "Half Life 3" game. Now, new reports claimed that the much-awaited game is soon to be released within this year.
Parent Herald previously reported that an unnamed Reddit user divulged a vital information about the forthcoming "Half Life 3" release date. "The product may release this year, the biggest factor that I've heard is marketability," the source said.
What made this news more interesting are the claims that Valve requested Reeddit moderators to delete the said conversation. True enough, fans can no longer access the said forum.
"A moderator of that sub confirmed that the user had sent proof of their legitimacy," the same source revealed. "At around 4:30 PM EST, the thread was removed because Valve apparently contacted the mod and asked him to remove it."
However, whether or not this whole "Half Life 3" release date is true, no one can confirm yet. Despite Valve being efficacious in keeping things under wraps, avid gamers are hopeful that the game will be out sooner or later.
"Half Life 3" became a hot topic among gamers worldwide when Marc Laidlaw left Valve. Fans were concerned that his departure will have a relative effect on the forthcoming "Half Life 3" release date.
As a matter of fact, some speculated that the game might have been canceled. However, with the new updates Parent Herald gathered, it is very unlikely that "Half Life 3" was abolished.
Meanwhile, one of the reason why Marc left Valve is his age. He said that he feels too old for the gaming industry.
"An outwardly obvious reason is that I'm old, or anyway oldish. My nickname when I first started at Valve in 1997 was 'old man Laidlaw'," he said. "The little baby level designer who gave me that that nickname is now older than I was then."
"I had a good run but lately, I have been feeling a need for a break from the collaborative chaos of game production, and a return to more self-directed writing projects," he added.
