Super Bowl 50 News: Doritos Super Bowl Commercial Criticized by Abortion Activists [Video]

The Super Bowl event is known for showcasing halftime show, movie trailers and different kinds of advertisement. However, the Doritos ad stole the attention of the many and now making waves for being controversial.

The commercial focused on the story of a pregnant woman who was undergoing an ultrasound with her doctor on her side. His husband was on her other side busy munching Doritos while teasing their unborn child, who was trying to have some chips as seen on the monitor.

When the soon-to-be-mom was irritated, she grabbed the tortilla and throw it on the floor, which made the baby came out. It has been said that the American food company, Frito-Lay, has been criticized by abortion activists as it showed an untimely birth of a pregnant woman.

According to Latinos Health, some said that the brand of seasoned tortilla chip had gone too far on their Super Bowl material. In fact, some critics even denounced it as the "worst commercial of the night."

However, in spite of being criticized, the man behind the ad, Australian filmmaker Peter Carstairs, has a positive outlook on his creation. "We didn't win but 160 million people saw it broadcast," he said, as noted by News Australia.

Unfortunately, the promotion video didn't make it, but they still came in the second place following the winner, "Doritos Dogs." "And on the USA Today ad meter (which ranks viewers favorite ads played during the Super Bowl) we ranked number three. Ironically, we ranked above Doritos Dogs!" he added.

Meanwhile, as many didn't find it pleasing, The Daily Signal said they saw the humor the ad was trying to give and it doesn't mean any harm. In fact, the article expressed that the plug was just showing the real thing as it revealed what is happening when a father was waiting for her wife go "through an ultrasound."
