Since it was released in October 2015, Microsoft's Surface Pro 4 was not as successful as what the company imagined, but it was well-received. However, tech-savvy enthusiasts pointed out the things that the tablet should be mindful of and hoping that it would be fixed in the upcoming Surface Pro 5.
A lightweight Surface Pro 5
According to Cubiclane, the 1.76 lbs weight of Surface Pro 4 might be lighter for its features, but it's quite heavier compared to other tablets, like Apple's iPad Pro and Google's Pixel C. However, users not see this as a big difficulty, but they are looking forward that this could be improved.
Lasting Battery Life
Surface Pro 4 promised a longer battery life that could go on up to nine hours of usage. Unfortunately, this was not proved as it only has five to seven hours of power, which also depends on how people using it.
Fingerprint Scanner
Truly, Surface Pro 4 has a fingerprint scanner "for biometric authentication," which is a plus for this device. But, one still has to buy the additional accessory, the Type Cover keyboard, to enjoy the said feature.
Hence, enthusiasts are hoping that the upcoming Surface Pro 5 would have the fingerprint scanner built-in on the device itself.
Keyboard
For the users to fully enjoy the features of Surface Pro 4, they still have to shell out for the additional accessory, which is the keyboard. The unit itself already cost $800 to $1500 and spending a little more for the supposed-to-be-accompanied console is not economical.
As a result, fans of the Microsoft device are wishing that the future successor would offer a package of Surface Pro 5 with a keyboard, Latinos Health reported.
Fan Noise
Surface Pro 4 users are also complaining the noise which is coming from the gadget's fan. In fact, the said sound was already experienced in Surface Pro 3 and quite improved, but fans wanted it to be totally gone in Surface Pro 5.
Meanwhile, as the rumors have it, Surface Pro 5 is set to be released between June and October 2016. It, too, might include pen/stylus and be powered by Windows 10.1 Pro. Also, it might be priced from $899 to $1599.
