'Orange Is The New Black' Season 4 Release Date, Cast, News, Update: Unexpected Alliances Will Form, Taylor Schilling Will Take The Backseat To New Lead, Netflix Series Renewed For 3 Seasons More?

Netflix TV series "Orange Is The New Black" continues strong with three new seasons confirmed for the show. The Netflix hit has a few changes readied for fans in "Orange Is The New Black Season 4."

According to New York Daily News, "Orange Is The New Black Season 4" will definitely be followed by Season 5, 6 and 7. Netflix firmed up the deal with "Orange Is The New Black" creator and executive producer Jenji Kohan. "Three more years," Kohan expressed. "Not quite a political term, but still plenty of time to do some interesting things. In some cultures, 'May you lead an interesting life,' is a curse, but I don't live in those cultures. Here's to keeping it interesting."

Netflix stated their appreciation for the show, which won the Best Comedy Ensemble and Best Actress In A Comedy (Uzo Aduba) awards at the 2016 Screen Actors Guild Awards. "Jenji and her team have produced a phenomenal and impactful series that is both funny and dramatic, outrageous and heartfelt," Netflix's Vice President of original content Cindy Holland said. "We are eager to see where three more seasons will take them."

Express reports that Kohan spoke of what fans can expect from "Orange Is The New Black Season 4." "We start with political agendas, the corporatization of the prison, the stratification of people into their little mosaic groups," Kohan said. "We want it to be a surprise, but [you can expect] all the fun stuff like race and hate and some things from current events that we wanted to filter through our lens."

Dascha Polanco, who plays Dayanara Diaz, said that alliances will go through musical chairs in "Orange Is The New Black Season 4." "Season four will push the envelope to the next level," Polanco said. "There are going to be "unexpected alliances" as the prison "[pushes] all the different groups together".

Kohan revealed that Piper Chapman, portrayed by Taylor Schilling, will give way to four other inmates to take the lead in Season 4. The story will get viewers invested with these other characters.

"Orange Is The New Black Season 4" will hit Netflix on June 17, 2016.
