Reality star Kate Gosselin filed a lawsuit against her ex-husband Jon Gosselin alleging that he hacked her computer and mobile phone and accessed bank accounts.
The 38-year-old reality TV star accused Jon of hacking the phone and computer for information required for a tell-all book titled 'Kate Gosselin: How She Fooled the World'.
"Jon violated a federal anti-hacking statute in order to publish salacious, scandalous and defamatory information about Kate," Kate's attorney A Jordan Rushie said. "It's damaged her reputation."
The book was written by Jon's friend and business partner, tabloid writer Robert Hoffman in 2012. But the book was recalled two days after its entry in the market because the information was illegally collected, according to the lawsuit.
The suit further sought unspecified damages from Jon for identity theft, wiretapping and invasion of privacy. Jon did not give any official comment on the matter.
Kate and Jon first met at a company picnic in October 1997 and tied the knot in June 1999. They featured in the TLC show "Jon & Kate plus 8," that showed the way they managed their home with their twins and sextuplet in April 2007 But two years later in 2009, they announced their separation and in the same year December their divorce was finalized. They previously said that their eight children will stay in their Pennsylvania home, and the couple would move back and forth to accommodate the custody agreement.
After the finalization of the divorce Kate was given the ownership of the family home and primary custody of the children.
