NBA All-Star weekend in Toronto will be a memorable one for sneaker fans. The event will take place in downtown Toronto from Thursday to Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sister events will take place in Chicago, New York and Los Angeles. Nike Basketball event takes place every year, during the NBA All-Star weekend. The famous sportswear company will be operating a so-called SNKRS XPRESS.
For the event, fans of Nike sneakers can register at nike.com/snkrsxpress. In Toronto the Nike event can be visited by heading down to 277 Queen St. W., just east of MuchMusic. There you can board a redesigned TTC streetcar that features old and new popular Nike footwear. The iterations exposed are also available for purchase. The riders of the train will also have the opportunity to buy some surprise sneaker releases.
According to Toronto Sun, a product specialist for Nike, Ted Trinidad, declared that one great thing on the NBA All-Star weekend will be the Nike surprises. He ensured the sneaker fans that will be lot of nice shoes coming out but did not specify what exactly will be available.
The tour guide is Toronto Raptors star DeMar DeRozan who registered a short video taking riders through the 20-minute sneaker experience. The video also features some specially curated Spotify playlists.
Courtesy of Jason Markk, sneaker cleaning services are offered in a pre-boarding lounge. The lounge also give sneakers fans the opportunity to take a look at iconic Nike footwear and newer releases like the Kobe 11 Royalty, Air Jordan XXX, Nike Air Force 1 Flyknit and more.
According to Hot New Hip Hop, at the SNKRS XPRESS event Nike will release the All-Star pack featuring new footwear for Kevin Durant, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James and others. In addition to that, the weekend will also feature a re-release of 1989's Air Jordan IV's and a collaboration of Drake with Jordan. Both the Drake sneakers and the IV's will be hot tickets.
