Another "Love and Theft" musician is joining the daddy club.
Country singer Stephen Barker Liles confirmed to the media that he is expecting his first child with fiancée Jenna Michelle Kennedy. The baby is due, Dec.3.
The 29-year-old musician got engaged to Kennedy, May 28. The couple is planning to tie the knot in June 2014.
"It's perfect timing," the dad-to-be told, People magazine. "December is our freest month of the year so if all goes according to plan, I'll be home with Jenna and the baby."
The pregnancy news comes months after Liles' bandmate Eric Gunderson and wife Emily welcomed their first child, a baby boy named Camden William Gunderson. The little boy, who was due May came two months early, on March 10.
Liles and Kennedy have already started preparations for welcoming the new addition.
"Right now we're more focused on nursery colors than wedding colors," the 26-year-old mom-to-be told the People.
Also, the couple has started learning the art of handling babies with Gunderson's son, baby Camden.
"I couldn't be more excited to be a father, and Jenna is going to be such an amazing mother. You should see her with Camden, she is such a natural," Liles, said in a statement, according to Country Weekly.
The duo- Liles and Gunderson, who has been performing together since the formation of "Love and Theft" in 2006 is planning to continue their family relationships and strengthen it through their children.
"It is a little surreal," Liles, referring about his impending fatherhood, added to Country Weekly. "When Eric and I first started playing together when we were just young songwriters and now we have families . . . it's amazing to be able to experience this next part of life and have our kids play together. But if I have a girl, Camden still needs to get my permission first."
