Football legend David Beckham spends a fortune in pampering their family pet Olive, a black English cocker spaniel. Reports say that Olive gets a chauffeur driven in a limo to a West End posh grooming parlor twice a week.
OK! reported that Beckham, 40, pampers Olive with a beauty treatment called a "dogzilian' twice a week at the Purplepone doggy parlor. Dogzilian - a Brazilian-style treatment that includes a full shampoo and blow dry, teeth cleaning and a deodorizing spray - costs around £75.
Last year, Olive was introduced by Victoria Beckham on Instagram as the newest addition to the family. Olive has her own Instagram account with over 80,000 followers.
The report also said that Guy Richie, Beckham's film director pal, spoils his pet Coco with similar dog treatments. Coco, a cocker spaniel who was bought along with Olive last year, is also taken to the high-end salon twice a week for glam sessions.
"It's mad. Becks and Guy are both devoted to their puppies and spend a fortune sending them in a limo to a groomer twice a week together," a source told The Sun.
The sourced added that Beckham and Guy would even go to each other's house so that Olive and Coco can play and walk together. "They know people will laugh but they don't care. They go down to the pub with Olive and Coco and show them off to the other drinkers."
English cocker spaniels became a sought-after breed of dog among celebs after Prince William and Kate Middleton acquired one. The royal couple adopted a cocker spaniel named Lupo in 2011.
According to the American Kennel Club, cocker spaniels are intelligent and gentle dogs that can go well as part of a family. Despite their small size, they are an active sporting breed that needs daily exercise, regular brushing and monthly trimming.
