The future of "Rosewood" is looking rosy. In a recent report from Deadline, "Being Human" alum Sam Huntington has recently joined the cast for a recurring role.
Huntington will play the role of Mitchie Brickman, whose character is described as "a fun, fast talking new-to-town private pathologist who was forced to close his lab in Pensacola due a penchant for doing pro bono work."
Huntington's role is said to have the chance to become a regular in Season 2. While Fox has yet to announce the renewal of the series for another season, it looks like this casting announcement can be taken as a good sign on the show's future.
As Carter Matt reported, there is a good reason to be hopeful for the show's future on Fox, as the show averaged 1.8 in the 18-49 demographic.
These figures make "Rosewood" the second highest drama next to "Empire." The publication, however, noted on the possibility that these ratings may be due to the fact that the show airs prior to "Empire."
The publication further pointed out that "Rosewood" has yet to see how it would fare if it did not have "Empire" in its lineup. The show has also reportedly dropped over 35 percent from its first episode, but it still remained in the 1.4-1.6 range, which gives it a positive outlook for Season 2.
The publication also conducted a poll in the article, which gathered the fans and viewers' opinion about "Rosewood."
60 percent noted that "Rosewood" Season 1 was wonderful, 28 percent found it was okay, 8 percent were disappointed while 4 percent found the show terrible.
