'Knack 2' PS4 Release Date & Trailer: Sequel on the Way - What We Know so Far [Rumors]

According to reports and new evidence, fans of the action game "Knack" might enjoy a "Knack 2."

A report on NeoGAF pointed out an employment record on LinkedIn that suggests a sequel for the game might be in the works. Since the report the listing has been removed from LinkedIn.

The profile of 3D Animator Mindy Liang working for XPEC Entertainment Inc. lists her work for "Knack 2", including animating cutscenes and 3D character motions for the PS4 version of the game. From the LinkedIn listing we learn that the 3D Animator apparently worked for the game in May of 2015.

The first "Knack" game was released back in 2013 as a PS4 launch title, according to Attack of the Fanboy. Many were bored by the repetitive game play, while many liked the graphics. The release was finally met with mixed reviews.

Shuhei Yoshida, the president of Sony, expressed his disappointment with regards to the game's review scores. Even if "Knack" was not acclaimed so much, the game was one of the most pre-ordered games of 2013.

Yoshida said that, while the review scores for the "Knack" game are disappointing, he doesn't think that "it's worrisome for the launch of the system". "Knack" and "Resogun" are games that, if you play more, they really grow on you.

From the start, "Knack" wasn't designed to review well but rather targeted "as a second purchase" together with games like "Assassin's Creed" and "Call of Duty". Since "Knack" uses only three buttons to play, the game is clearly not the type that would be scored high by reviewers for the lunch of a next-gen system.

According to Game Rant, the game would be in development for two years now if there is a "Knack 2" in the works. So far, the only evidence of it is the developer's resume. However, an official reveal statement from Sony might come during this year's E3 event.
