It's been quite awhile since marijuana users are hoping that cannabis will be legalized in every state as they claimed that it is a medicinal plant that can help cure some illness. Hence, it has been said that the sales of the drug grass will bloom four times in 2020.
According to The Motley Fool, a lot of countries are already accepting the legalization of marijuana as there are about 22 nations, which allows the use of weeds as medicine. In fact, since 1996, the numbers have been huge as California began the movement followed by Washington, D.C. among others.
Hence, it is not just the industry of medical marijuana is blossoming, but also recreational marijuana. It has been accepted by the voters since 2012 in four confederations, which include Washington, Colorado, Oregon and Alaska.
And as the Nov. 2016 presidential election is coming, some said that the countries that will approve the use of marijuana will be higher. Nevada already has a number of signatures enough to have the "recreational initiative on its ballot" and also, California, Ohio and more.
Thus, when the use of marijuana is already authorized, it is quite expected that the profits from selling the drug will "soar high." ArcView cited that marijuana sales got larger in 2015 by 17 percent with $5.4 billion compared to $4.6 billion of 2015.
This 2016, they are expecting that it will hit 25 percent increase, 30 percent in every succeeding year and to reach $22 billion in 2020. However, Civilized added that marijuana users are still not allowed to plant the drug on their own ground even if it's already legalized.
This is because authorities are trying to avoid minors to use it for having an easy access. Also, Canadian Police Association cleared that home planting should be limited to "medical marijuana patients only."
