‘Star Wars Anthology’ For Han Solo Cast News & Update: Han Solo May Have a Brother, ‘Kingsman: The Secret Service’ and ‘Hail, Caesar!’ Actors Short Listed?

After Han Solo's dismaying exit in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," fans are excited to find out who will take the torch up and step into Harrison Ford's shoes as the young Han Solo. The search for the "Star Wars Anthology's" young Hans Solo has been competitive at best with the names of Chandler Riggs ("The Walking Dead"), Aaron Taylor-Johnson ("Avengers: Age Of Ultron," "Kick-Ass"), Rami Malek ( "Mr. Robot"), Tom Felton ("Harry Potter" films) and Ansel Elgort ("Divergent," "Carrie") among the thousands who've already auditioned. News surfaced that two among these thousands have already auditioned for the role of young Han Solo a few number of times.

According to Screen Rant, the "Star Wars Anthology" on young Han Solo will be directed by Phil Lord ("The Lego Movie," "22 Jump Street") and Chris Miller ("The Lego Movie," "22 Jump Street"). Lawrence Kasdan ("Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back," "Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of The Jedi") and his son Jon Kasdan ("The First Time," "In The Land of Women") co-wrote the anthology's script.

Reports have indicated that Taron Egerton ("Kingsman: The Secret Service," "Legend") and Alden Ehrenreich ("Hail, Caesar!", "Beautiful Creatures") have both gone a step further than most applicants. Egerton and Ehrenreich have been asked to audition a few times, both individually and together for the "Star Wars Anthology" role.

Movie Web says that according to Star Wars News Net, Egerton and Ehrenreich's auditions may have indicated that they were being tried out for different roles. In their audition together, the roles that Egerton and Ehrenreich read indicated that their characters were meant to be related. If one of the characters they read for is the young Han Solo, the report points at the possibility that the "Star Wars Anthology" will include a brother for Han Solo.

Umberto Gonzalez of Heroic Hollywood posted on Twitter that the report is not true at all. However, the new flurry of such news is unsurprising. Although the "Star Wars Anthology" on Han Solo is set for a May 25, 2018 release, the young Han Solo may possibly appear in this year's anthology release. "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" is close to production completion and is set for a December release.

In the meantime, Taron Egerton has "Eddie the Eagle," "Kingsman 2" and "Robin Hood: Origins" to keep him busy. Alden Ehrenreich, on the other hand has "The Yellow Birds" along with "Hail, Caesar!"
