Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens have called it quits long time ago but "High School Musical" fans continue to hope to see both stars reunite in the big screens, if not in real life. The cast of the Disney Channel movie recently reunited to celebrate the 10th anniversary of "HSM," but the 28-year-old lead actor was nowhere to be seen. Is his girlfriend, Sami Miro to blame?
The cast of "HSM" recently celebrated its 10th anniversary after the movie franchise ended with "High School Musical 3: Senior Year" in 2008. Stars Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, Lucas Grabeel, Corbin Bleu and Monique Coleman attended the said event, E! News reported.
Fans began wondering why its male lead star Zac Efron, who played the role of Troy Bolton, did not attend the event. Youth Health Magazine cited several reports, which provide possible reasons for the "Dirty Grandpa" actor's absence from the reunion.
According to the publication, Efron had to avoid seeing his ex-girlfriend, Vanessa Hudgens because their relationship ended on bad terms.
"Things would be awkward and there would be a lot of issues that would come up and they wouldn't feel comfortable faking it in front of cameras," an insider shared. "They had a horrible breakup and she really doesn't want to hear his name let alone be in the same room with him."
Another report claims that Efron's girlfriend, Sami Miro, was the real reason for his absence during the said event. Miro is allegedly jealous of Efron and Hudgens' relationship and was worried that fans would root for the former couple once again.
However, it looks like Miro does not have anything to worry about, as the couple was recently spotted flying out of Los Angeles with Efron to celebrate Valentine's Day together.
As it turns out, Efron's reason for skipping the "HSM" reunion was due to his busy schedule. The actor is reportedly busy promoting his upcoming movie "Dirty Grandpa" alongside Robert de Niro.
