While the announced closed beta tests for "Fallout 4" might not be announced publicly, Bethesda's Pete Hines confirms that the game's DLC expansions will be released for all platforms at once.
According GameRant, Bethesda finally revealed the first three "Fallout 4" DLC expansions months after announcing its plans to create them. Pete Hines, the vice president of Bethesda Softworks, has confirmed over Twitter that the development team plans to release the DLC expansions for all platforms at once.
Bethesda's DLC plans is good news at a time when timed-exclusive DLC content is becoming more common for many popular game titles, including "Destiny", "Black Ops 3" and "Call of Duty."
According to the website WCCF Tech, Hines revealed that applicants accepted into the closed beta tests for the upcoming DLD expansions will find out only once the developers team needs them. It is unknown for the moment what criteria Bethesda will be using to select its beta participants.
The good news is that after months of wandering around post-apocalyptic Boston, fans of the "Fallout" game series will only have to wait until March before "Automatron" is released. This will be the first of the three expected "Fallout 4" DLC expansions. The "Wasteland Workshop" DLC pack will be released in April, while the "Far Harbour" DLC expansion will come in May.
According to Bethesda's announcement, the company plans to increase the price for the season pass for "Fallout 4" from $30 to $50. The price increase aims to reflect the amount of additional content planned for "Fallout 4" by the game developer for the rest of the year. Taking into consideration the massive "Fallout 4" patch, the upcoming closed beta test and the announced DLC expansions, the price hike seems justified since Bethesda plans on adding a considerable amount of free and paid content to the base game.
Gamers can sign up for the "Fallout 4" closed beta test or continue to roam the Boston Commonwealth until the DLC expansions are released. Currently the game is available for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 and the future expansions will become available on all platforms at once.
