The fifth season of "Veep" TV series will have its premiere on HBO network channel on Sunday, April 24, at 10:30pm ET/PT. Fans of the network's Emmy-winning political satire "Veep" TV series can enjoy watching a new teaser clip released by HBO.
According to the TV Series Finale, the main character in the "Veep" series is former Vice President Selina Meyer. In the role of Selina Meyer stars Julia Louis-Dreyfus. When her predecessor steps down, Vice President Meyer assumes the US presidency. The "Veep" cast also includes: Anna Chlumsky, Tony Hale, Matt Walsh, Gary Cole, Reid Scott, Sufe Bradshaw, Timothy C. Simons, Kevin Dunn, Hugh Laurie and Sam Richardson.
While Selina Meyer isn't even the veep anymore, the series continued existence is always pleasant for its fans. After Meyer's position changed, it is impressive how little else has changed with the character. She is having the same issues still, but only on a bigger scale. Minor misunderstanding transform in huge disasters and trivial mistakes become huge problems.
The "Veep" season five premiere it's going to be the most different season of the show ever. The reason is the fact that showrunner and series creator Armando Ianucci is leaving the show and David Mandel will run the show from now on, according to iDigitalTimes. However, David Mandel has pretty solid credentials so the fans of the TV series should not be worried about the new version.
Even if the most of the rest of the team is staying the same, Ianucci's departure will certainly change the show. Ianucci is leaving because he is a Briton and his family lives in Britain. He is moving back to London on a year-round basis because the strains of making a show in America was starting to hurt his family.
David Mandel is fortunately just as qualified as Ianucci himself. He worked on two of the best comedies ever: Curb Your Enthusiasm and Seinfeld. Mandel has also worked before with Julia Louis-Dreyfus, so we don't have to worry too much about any possible change in the tone of the show.
